Ano Syros

On the hill above Ermoupoli you will find the medieval settlement of Ano Syros. The medieval town retains a special atmosphere as it has been influenced by the Venetians. Once you cross the tunnel-gate of the village you will enter in another era: narrow streets, stairs, whitewashed houses and an abundance of colorful bougainvillea. You can go up to the top of the village and see the church of Saint George, which is the Catholic cathedral. The medieval church and the spectacular view of Ermoupolis and the neighboring islands will definitely take your breath away.
